I knew this past week was going to be busy, but it ended up feeling like it zoomed by without any intention of stopping for anything! It was fun though!
My beautiful new apron that my MOMYS swap partner sent me along with a bunch of wonderful books, chocolate and tea. We did this fun apron swap, where we all sewed aprons for each other and sent goodies along with them for another mom. It was alot of fun! I am standing in my living room, below a painting that my great-grandmother painted. I love her paintings!

Anyhow, Tuesday is always a full day as we have science classes, piano lessons, chess club and other things for school that fill it up with lots of running, and then Wed. I went up to see my mom and dad. I had a dentist appt. on Thursday, so went up early to visit. We took our schoolwork and went up! We went out to lunch with a friend and mom, which was nice. They totally remodeled this little hamburger/taco place in the local town and they added a hard ice cream type bar in there too, so the boys all got ice cream cones! They were really big and they could not hardly finish them!

We had a nice visit and I survived the dentist! I do not know what I would do if I had bad teeth! They always exclaim over my teeth about how nice they are, which is great, but still I count down the minutes of getting them cleaned! i am very thankful for great dental care we have available!
So, Friday morning we went to the Amish store and I got some great deals on food for the month, restocked the bookstore with a few things, collected money and headed home. I visited with my sister for a bit, but the boys were grumpy after the trip so it was short. In the evening our church had a fun ladies night, and we watched an old show called "That Girl" which I had never seen before! It was fun!

My whirlwind of a week ended with a stay in the church nursery this morning, which was fairly uneventful, but I am so tired and I have MOPS tomorrow!
So, good night! I hope you all sleep well!
Another day is gone by and I am sitting here, tired out and wondering how things go by so swiftly!
I was babysitting my nieces last weekend and they were playing a game with a ball here!
I am thinking about how they are little only for a short time and the window of time we have now, we may not always have.
My phone line is acting up, so I cannot post the pictures I wanted to, and I need to go to bed!
On Wed. i had alot of things to do, we have been working steadily on school, and then I had grocery shopping, meal planning, housecleaning and all that fun stuff to do, plus the car needed an oil change. P. went over to work on writing with my sister and I went to get the oil changed and do some shopping. One thing that has not been fun, is my coat disappeared. It is gone. Poof. So, I have been layering on the sweaters and jackets and running fast.
So, we are at the oil change station when L. who is 6 tells me there is water in his ear. I look and there is a greenish fluid (sorry, that is gross) in his ear. I call his pediatrician who makes an appt. for me to check it out. He is not sick anymore, just this and I am wondering why? Then later that day my sister tells me that her daughter has strep throat and since she spent the weekend with us, maybe that was what my other sons sickness was that he has been sick with all week. So, when I go to the doctor, I ask if she has time to check the other son as well and yes…..bingo! Strep Throat! My 6 year old has a double ear infection and it looks like his one eardrum burst. I felt terrible! He had not even been complaining of ear pain! So, they have antibiotics now and hopefully it goes well and none of the rest of us end up with strep.

I did plan a menu, it has been sketchy though!
Wed: Sloppy Joes, french fries, homemade carrot cake
Thursday: Homemade baked corn dogs, steak, leftover omelets and other stuff
Friday: Oven fried drumsticks, mashed potatoes, cucumbers, green beans
Saturday: Potato and beef hash, vegetable
Sunday: Vegetable beef soup, bread
Monday: Pizza, salad
Tuesday: Leftovers= clean out the fridge night

Allie Harrod is ready for a new career. She does not want to go back to work and miss her baby’s first smiles. But she does want to contribute the family income and a home-based business seems like the perfect fit. She has never been much of a salesperson, but makeup should be different, right?

The roadblocks to her budding career seem to be piling up, her mother-in-law moves in, none of her clothes fit right, and somehow her credit card bill is getting higher and higher. Determined to make a go of it on her own, she thinks that non-communication is the route to try, plus the nagging concern about her husband spending time with a coworker, who is a single mother, helping her out, bothers her.
Multi-level marketing, just does not seem the right place for her to be!

All these questions and more plague new mother Allie, one sister among three. This lighthearted story, with deep thoughts throughout, will get you thinking not only about what Allie should or should not have done, but also about your own life and what you can do. I related to Allie, especially when at one point her mother-in-law walked in her bedroom without knocking!!

Allie’s bravery to face her challenges and make right decisions, pray through them, and see how God brings it all together, will keep you reading and laughing (and maybe crying) with Allie and her family through the whole book! the deep Christian message throughout was appreciated as well, with characters with real struggles with Christianity, for real reasons.
This is a fun read you have to pick up! I really enjoyed it!

It is published by Revell and 313 pages and retails for $13.99.
It is available for purchase at Amazon.com or Christianbook.com

It is one I am just barely hanging onto, too! This last week P. got sick with a cold, it has not been a big deal although he gone back and forth between being really sick and not sick at all.
We are doing a bunch of studies for history for Black History Month, which I believe is this month, if I am not mistaken. If I am, oh well!
Anyhow, we had found some really interesting things, but one of the nicest things was a interactive history adventure book. It is non-fiction, but it is kind of like those choose your own adventure stories and however you choose determines the ending! It is the first time I have seen them excited about a book and so, of course that got me excited! I think we are going to try lapbooking finally too!
I did this apron swap and got a beautiful apron in the mail! it is really pretty and I will post a picture of it soon!
