was one of those days where you wake up and know that there is so much to be done, you are never going to get it all done. I moved slowly, but surely and worked my way through the day.
We worked on catching up on read aloud history and science, but ended up skipping part of the science. Why? Well, it wanted us to create a fruit fly farm and we have been battling fruit flies since October here. There is no way I was about to create more! We already have been learning tons about fruit flies and have just recently, possibly gotten on top of them!
After school, H. and I set out to make cookie dough. We made a batch of sugar cookies and put it in the fridge to chill. Then we started with a batch of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. We made them, baked them and when they were done, we rolled out the sugar cookies and got them baked.
I have been organizing homeschool mom support group meetings and they have been going really well this year. It seems like many times, there was many people interested the first time, and no one shows up later in the year! So far, we have have had a good group each time! We are alternating back and forth between two towns that are close to one another. I plan an activity for the children to do and we visit and talk about ideas about homeschooling. It was very nice!
I had to laugh when my son was recounting some of his adventures with controlling a large group of children (he was helping me with some of that) and recalling his frustration with being told to sit down and be quiet, yet he wanted to do that with these children! He then admitted that he was worse than many of them, but at least he could sit and be quiet. We decorated sugar cookies, the children played duck, duck goose and red light, green light in the room, while we sat with the door open in the library and talked about keeping going!
I was so tired when I got home, but managed to get the tacos made before basketball practice, barely!! The house is not clean, but it was a good day!
